make sure you have already set up ekiga correctly 1. what is the sip address bar in ekiga? http://ekiga.org/admin/screenshots/latest/Ekiga.png can you see that text box/list box? there is a word "sip:" basically this where you type the address of the person you want to call. 2.whose name do i have to register mine or the person i am calling and how do i regester it? the name that you should be registering or subscribing is the yahoo username that you want to call, your friends or most likely those usernames in your buddy list, go to http://www.gtalk2voip.com/ , can you see that subscription box? type your freinds name their, complete with "@yahoo.com" click invite , the user should recieve a buddy invite from gtalk2voip, it should be like gtalk2voip013 or any number on gtalk2voipxxx, tell the user that recieves the invite to accept it, after accepting the buddy invite he/she should now have a buddy contact like gtalk2voip005 or whatever number slots gtalk2voip gave. 3.how do i call my buddy using the button in gyachi or on ekgia and if it is on ekgia how do i make a call on ekgia? if you are using gyachi-sidetrack then there is a button to pass the call to ekiga without having to type the usenrame. but to not confuse you, since you are using gyachi from cvs i believe from the recent forum threads you've made. you should call through ekiga directly. calling the yahoo user from ekiga.. type the yahoo username in the sip address text box like this user_at_yahoo.com@yahoo.gtalk2voip.com so if your contact's name is tommy it should be tommy_at_yahoo.com@yahoo.gtalk2voip.com push the call button http://ekiga.org/admin/screenshots/latest/Ekiga.png this is the button in the right beside the address bar, wait for several seconds or so, the yahoo user that you are calling should now see an incoming call. he / she should answer it. |
